The last organic publication in the field of higher mycology, in Italy, dates back to the mid-80s. Although only twenty years have passed since then described today it is no longer valid or in any case not compliant with today's health and marketing regulations. , breeding techniques, etc.
New rules regarding the dispersion of harmful or just foul-smelling volatile substances into the air required the use of complex, once unforeseen, filtration structures for all gaseous emissions in the mushroom areas.
The protection of health with reference to the use and presence in mushrooms of products used in the fight against pathogens has drastically reduced the number of active ingredients of possible use and the amount of residuals tolerated in the product marketed. In the presence of such a dynamic condition and in the absence of texts that account for these changes, it was considered useful to bring together in a single work what is still valid today with what has been affirmed again, so as to provide amateurs and entrepreneurs a general information able to direct them towards possible new activities.
